I signed up for MomsMeet.com which is an awesome community of parents and caregivers that collaborate on information to help guide you and your family to a healthy better for you lifestyle. In this community, you can sign up to become either a mom ambassador or a blog ambassador. The mom ambassadors are women or moms that have a moms group where you will be able to share some great goodies with your group. The Blog ambassadors need to have a blog already set-up and make sure you know how to track your visitor usage before applying because they asked a million questions about how many visitors, followers, likes, etc. After becoming approved as either a mom or blog ambassador, you are then able to start applying to receive for free, test, and review some awesome products that you can feel good about giving to your family. In the community you can also participate in quests based on the sample applications and learn more about the products and earn some points for momsmeet.com. With your points you are able to redeem them for some goodies, occasionally they have surprise sample boxes available to redeem but I have not yet been lucky enough to catch them at the right time. Other than that I feel the prizes are pretty generic and are stuff I could print off of google myself so I do not want to redeem my points for those items. They just announced the implementation of badges, which I am super excited about. They have been mentioning badges for a while but it just started up where you can receive badges for completing quests, completing sample missions, joining in discussions, and more. I love the badges because it gives you a fun way to visually track your progress and remind you of the awesome sample meetings you have gotten to host. I also love that they offer coupons or discount codes for the products that they are featuring, I already saved 10% on trash bags from Amazon thanks to one of these codes for HippoSaks. Definitely checkout momsmeet.com to start contributing with other mamas and to have your chance at some great free items.
This time, I was selected to host a moms group featuring some of the awesome products from Brandless, including their Cheese Duck Crackers. Brandless is a site where oyu are able to purchase great quality products without the brand name for just $3 each. Removing the branded name has allowed for a cheaper price by reducing the hidden brand tax. See the illustration from the Brandless website below.
In the sample pack we received:
- Five (5) - 5.5oz Boxes of Cheese Duck Crackers
- One (1) - 3 fl oz bottle of Lemon Verbena Hand Cream
- One (1) - 12oz bag of Oats & Honey Granola
- One (1) - 3oz bag of Crushed Pepper & Truffle Oil Popcorn
- Information sheets about Brandless
For our moms group meeting, I decided to just set out some of the Cheese Duck Crackers for the guests and their kids to grab at from a bowl then placed the additional 4 boxes of the Cheese Duck Crackers out for the guests to take home of they desired. I also did the same with the Popcorn, leaving the bag out and available for the guests to try. As for the granola, I decided to do something a little fun and I set up a parfait station with Vanilla yogurt, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, blackberries, and the granola for the guests to make their own parfaits to enjoy with the Granola we received.
Overall, I think the guests really like the products that we received to try and several people, including myself, were interested in becoming more engaged with Brandless and trying more of the products that they offer from foods to household goods.
Lemon Verbena Hand Cream: The hand cream smelled nice and felt great on your hands. I think this will last a while as just a bit goes a long way. I would definitely think of purchasing this in the future but there are so many lotions for a great price that I do not know if it would be worth ordering this one for $3.
Cheese Duck Crackers: These Cheese Duck Crackers were awesome, everyone loved them and there were not any complaints about the flavor. We had recently tried another cheese cracker that everyone hated so it was great to see that these were liked. I have been giving what was left over to my son as a school snack and I even snuck a box for work because I sort of love them. The one thing I did notice was that they seemed to go stale much quicker than other crackers that I typically purchase which was not appreciated but as long as you eat them quick they are great.
Oats & Honey Granola: This granola was just what I have been looking for. Everyone loved making the little parfaits with yogurt, fruit and the granola. My son now keeps asking when we can make more. The granola is also great just to snack on which I have been doing a bit too much of.
Crushed Pepper & Truffle Oil Popcorn: This popcorn was really tasty and my husband liked it best but I thought it could have had more truffle oil flavor. I think similar to the lotion, bagged popcorn like this is very inexpensive in store so I am not sure that it would be worth ordering but if I were to order a box of items it would make a great add on.
