I was selected by Influenster to receive another complimentary Voxbox to test and review. This one was for Herbal Essences Shampoo and Foam Conditioner. Influenster is a great place where you are able to collaborate with other members and read/ submit reviews for products you have tried or have been wanting to try.
In the Voxbox I received:
1 Full Size (13.4 fl oz) bottle of Herbal Essences Rosemary & Herbs Shampoo
1 Full Size (6oz) bottle of Herbal Essences Rosemary &Herbs Foam Conditioner
I have been using these products for several days so far and I am satisfied with them but I am not confident that I would be willing to make the switch to these products. Originally I had thought they might be a good switch as they are much cheaper than my usual products and I did like them at first but after several days of use I am not so sure. The one thing I noticed immedietly is that this Rosemary & Herbs scent is sort of manly, it smells similar to some of the Old Spice products that I purchase for my husband. In fact, it was manly enough that he chose to use some of both the shampoo and conditioner to try it as well.
The Shampoo: The shampoo is very thick so a little bit goes a long way for washing your hair. The first night, I used far too much because I did not realize how thick it was. The shampoo seemed to clean my hair nicely but after several days of use, my hair is looking a bit greasy and I think there may be quite a bit of buildup from the shampoo so I will be switching back to my usual brand tonight.
The Conditioner: The foam conditioner was interesting to use as I have never even heard of a foam conditioner before. It comes out of the bottle similar to shaving cream and it is a little tricky to push the button and get it to spray into your other hand, I definitely lost quite a bit to the shower floor. The conditioner works well enough but certainly did not leave my hair as soft as I typically like it to feel. I think that my husband liked this conditioner a bit more than I did. He has been using a variety of my conditioners but often does not like the way they leave his hair feeling filmy but this one was much lighter and it seemed to work well for him as it washed out well and did not leave that filmy feeling nor was his hair too silky. Overall, I think the foam conditioner would be a better product for men as it does not provide the same level of softness that other conditoners do but seemed to be perfect for a mans hair.
I was thrilled to receive these for free to try from Influenster but I am not sure that I would purchase any more in the future.
