Generation Good - Seventh Generation Feminine Hygiene (Free Sample)

Hello,

I was selected by the Generation Good Sharing Network by Seventh Generation to receive a free sample of some Feminine Hygiene products to test and review. Seventh Generation has fought for better accuracy for labeling of feminine hygiene products so that women know what they are putting in their most sensitive areas. The information card says "did you know the average woman uses up to 16,000 tampons in a lifetime?" That definitely makes you think, you want to know what is in the products you are using when you use that many.

In the sample pack I received:
1 box of cardboard applicator tampons (2 Regular, 1 Super)
1 box of pads (1 Regular ultra thin pad with wings, 1 regular maxi pad, and 1 overnight maxi pad with wings)

Thoughts on the Tampons: I did not like these tampons at all.  I already know that I do not like tampons with cardboard applicators and only use in an absolute emergency so I saved these for an emergency situation.  After using these, my hatred for cardboard applicators was solidified.  They were super uncomfortable to insert and that discomfort led to further discomfort when the tampon was inserted because it was not fully where it needed to be.  I appreciate the dedication to making sure the product is safe for women but I would not purchase these just due to the discomfort.

Thoughts on the Pads: I thought the pads were nice although they all seemed to be thicker than I would have expected. Even the regular size was more think like the super size that I used after I had my son.  As far as the absorbency they were great and left no trace of wet feeling or stickiness which I very much appreciated.  The thing I really did not like those was how adhesive the pads were to your clothing.  This adhesiveness was great to help with security and the pad did not move around at all which was great but they were a little bit to adhesive and were difficult to remove from underwear. I really had to pull with some force to get the pad off of my unders which was not enjoyable at all.  I think they need to make some improvements on how well these stick, there is a fine line between having enough security versus having it stuck on there for life.  I would consider purchasing these again but would like to see am improvement in the adhesiveness, I want my pad to stick well but come off easy.
